This is a simple yet original recipe, for a homemade 100% natural roll-on perfume, used for wrists and the neck area.
It is a universal recipe, thus it can be used by women and men altogether.
For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:
1. Cold-pressed 100% pure grape seed oil (base ingredient),
2. Lavender oil extract (Lavandula angustifolia),
3. Patchouli oil extract (Pogostemon cablin),
4. Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus).
You will also be needing a small roll-on canister (plastic or glass), which usually can be found in a 10ml or 50ml version on the internet, and you can order some from there.
The ball of the canister is not necessarily of a major importance, although they are a bit heavier, which improves the spreading of the perfume on the surface of your skin.
Just fill the roll-on canister (depending on it’s size), with grape seed oil (three-quarter should do it), and ad the essential oils in the empty remaining area of the canister.
Now, the amount of essential oil drops varies (you can play around with it, if you choose too).
In other words, depending on the size of the canister, you might ad 15-30 drops of essential oils, from each (or half of this, if the canister is too little).
It is not recommended to mix more than two oils together, especially if you are using oils like lavender, as they might have quite a powerful odor, and it could definitely overshadow the rest.
This means, it’s usually a good idea to choose one primary oil, according to personal preference, and use a secondary one for a pleasant and soft fragrance in the background.
I mostly combine the first of the two mentioned above, however this isn’t a house rule at all.
Feel free to experiment a little, but within reason. Too much essential oil, can be irritating to yourself and others, if their fragrance is too strong.
You can also ad other types of oils if you prefer. These ones mentioned in the recipe, are the default ones used by myself most of the time, as their fragrance and healthy benefits are more than convenient.
I would also mention, that grape seed oil it’s very important as base oil, as it’s a very powerful antioxidant oil with maximum health benefits to the skin.
Also, it does not stain. This is quite a crucial element, when comes to contact with some kind of clothing.
Shake the canister well each time before use, and use it on your wrists or your neck area.
It’s 100% pure natural, so you don’t have to be afraid of absorption.
The only side effect that it has (if it could be called that way), that it’s fragrance doesn’t last that long as the other chemical ones.
It’s natural, so this is perfectly normal. You’ll just have to apply it a few more times on a daily basis.
Although, this could also depend on your lifestyle and your own skin properties.
Enjoy it, and carry the amazing properties of aromatherapy with you all day!
