Is it safe to go to Russia? Well, the short answer is no. However, if you are the type to take risks and play with your mortality, then you should definitely go for it at your own risk. First of all, one thing to remember about Russian is that there is corruption everywhere. You are not safe anywhere. Even normal looking people could be criminals and terrorists. The truth is that you will never know until you know and it is too late.
My best advice if you are traveling to Russia is to pack light and not to take anything vaguely suspicious or valuable with you. Once you hit the Russian airport, there is a good chance that the people at the gate are underpaid and are looking for luggage to steal from. Don’t let this happen to you.
When in Russia, it is important not to tell anyone that you are from America or any other country that is well off financially. Why? Well, it is because they will kidnap you and hold you for ransom. It is also equally important not to display diamonds or any sort of expensive clothing or accessories. There are burglars everywhere looking for easy targets.
However, if you are looking for a beautiful place to visit with lots of cultural and architectural attractions, Russia is definitely the place to go. I personally have only gone to Moscow. I had to go through Moscow with my family during my immigration to the USA. We hired what we thought was a reputable and honest van company to help get us to the airport. The driver ended up having a gun and robbed us at gunpoint before we got to the airport. We lost a couple of thousand dollars and thank God that the rest was wired to the USA. Needless to say it was a horrific experience and made me not want to come back and visit.
I think when you go to Russia, you cannot trust anyone. You can only trust family and close friends. Even friends can turn on you in time of financial need. Also, when traveling to Russia, it is important to know that restaurants there are not the most hygienic and that if you have a period, there is a chance that you might not be able to find pads in the pharmacy. If you go shopping there, chances are that you will have a problem finding plus size clothing.
It is important to remember that the city is very polluted so try to not breathe in too deeply. Chernobyl has had a lasting effect on the environment in Russian and many people catch mysterious illnesses like thyroid disease and lyme disease. Also, make sure you do not swim in any local body of water. Otherwise you risk and quick death from all the crap that is in the water.
The pollution is not only in the water. It is in the food you eat too. This is because the soil is polluted. So while you may not immediately feel sick after consuming the Russian food, swimming in Russian waters, or breathing in Russian air, there is a good chance that all that good time will come at a price.
Russia is a beautiful country with lots of trees and parks. There are also lots of factories and churches. It really is a magnificent experience that will stay with you for the rest of your life. Russian people tend to be on the ghetto side, but generally they are good people who are honest and decent. Yes, nowadays there is lots of corruption and mafia. However, the regular poor every day working class people are generally okay.
Of course you cannot forget the war that is happening now with Ukraine. These days Russian is completely out of control and they hate Jews more than ever. They are attacking Ukraine for no good reason at all just because they are tyrants and Putin is supporting all of this.
Now America is trying to negotiate with Putin and trying to make him understand that he cannot act like Stalin, however, I think Putin does not give a shit and is basically giving America the run around. Putin would much rather sell weapons to the terrorists than help a decent cause.
Well, I guess once a Republican becomes president, all that nice talk with Russia will stop and we will begin to quarrel with them as usual. Hopefully Russian will not have to fight two wars at once. Russia’s economy is already dead so this would just make things that much worse.
Most people in Russia dream of getting out of Russian and going to live in a country like America. Yes, things are better here, but they are not easy by any means. It is very difficult to start a family and most normal people barely make enough money to pay rent.
Well, in Russia most people are starving. There are hardly any jobs. There is no welfare for poor people. However, doctors are free I believe and education is free or cheap. Although if you are Jewish they probably will not accept you to the good schools. If you are Jewish, it is better not to talk about this fact out loud. Most Russians are Christian or Catholic and they hate Jews. The antisemitism is high in Russia so it is better to keep to yourself.
People do retire in Russian at like the age of 55. This way they can babysit their kid’s children and can relax in their golden years. Although, to be honest most people are almost starving on the small pensions that they get. Employers are also corrupt so often they do not give the amount of pension that a worker deserves when they retire.
If you are looking to make friends in Russia, the real friends that you make might be your friends for life. If you gain an old fashioned friend, these people will treat you more like family. They will give you money when you are broke and will be there for you in hard times.
If you are looking for a man in Russian, keep in mind that most men there are very poor and will likely use you for money or will not want to commit too much. Also, many Russian men happen to have a bad temper and drink too much. They are overly emotional and abusive.
Russians love to drink so you will find an active night life. Russians love to have a good time so there are always many attractions to go to and something to see. In Russian though, there is no such thing as complete freedom and you really need to watch what you say and do to avoid getting in trouble with the law.
The police department is also corrupt in Russia. They will not respond in case of emergency unless there is money in it for them. If they do respond without a payoff, they might come too late or may demand money once they arrive. Russia has a huge divide between the rich and the poor. Actually, when Russian was communist the financial situation and other things were better there. I know in America we hate communists, however, this extreme regime does bring a certain sense of fairness for the poor and middle class and also keeps order and peace. Russian has not been orderly or peaceful in a long time.
One thing about Russia is that no matter what career path you choose, you still get paid the same. In this way you choose a career because you love it not because of money. The only people who are rich in Russia are politicians, businessmen, and the mafia.
It is sad that I am scared to return to Russia for a visit. I keep hoping that one day the situation in Russia will be safe enough for me to go there. However, I do not think that this will happen during my lifetime. It is just too messy there and no one honest enough to fix it. So is it safe to travel to Russia? Well, probably not.
